Walking around Tokyo after the fish market but before we got on the train to Kyoto

After we returned to the hotel and showered and dressed, we ambled off to see more of Tokyo.

But we didn't walk and smoke.

We made our way to the Akihabara Electronics District to see what was going on there.

It was crazy with all the electronics stores and odd buildings. This one looks like a barber pole:

I don't know what this is a logo for, but I saw it on a huge warehouse coming back from the airport. Cute:

And I think the are expecting an alien invasion here, and they even have school crossing signs for alien children:

This is pretty typical of the type of store front around this area. Lots of little computer supplies:

and  they love video games here. Remember space invaders?

and more butt powerwashing:

On the 3rd floor, you get Hooby Goods, Game, and Kitty Goods.

store after store of these things:

we wandered into a couple of them. They all follow more or less the same format, with more or less the same goods. TVs, Phones, Tablets, Laptops, Kitchen supplies (rice cookers, tea water heaters, microwave ovens, etc)

We didn't stop here, but Zehn Coffee sounds pretty good:

Doreen tells me that much of Tokyo before the war looked like these little wooden houses:

As you can imagine, they were mostly destroyed in the firebombing.

I liked this little sign:

Then we came upon a food market that was selling the fish we saw at the market in the morning:

Dried fish, too.

Almost all of these fish were beautiful.

I couldn't stop taking photos:

and, of course, the Doner Kebab guy. He was giving me the thumbs up:

The woman behind the counter here called these the "nasty bits" of the pig:

more dried fish:

and more fresh fish:
