Why Japan?

Every journey starts with a kiss and ends in tears.

Not sure how this one will end, but it starts with a boat. A big boat. A big boat being built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI, or as those in the know call it, Mitsu Heavy) The company on which I serve as a Board member is building it in Nagasaki with Mitsu Heavy.

It will be a spectacular boat (we already have one like it) and it changes the whole data acquisition industry. So we are going to see it being built.

Then, we have the tears. My Sweet Ever-Lovin' decided that since I was going to Japan, she should come, too! And make a vacation of it. I did not like this idea. (I am in the middle of a transaction for my day job).

But we compromised. She is coming along and we are making a vacation of it.

The compromise part is that I am working, and not responsible for any of the planning for the vacation part. (Not much of a compromise, actually. That is how we always travel)

We leave early Sunday morning, and arrive in Japan Monday sometime (Asia bound, add a day. State-side, subtract a day)

So I guess we could say it is all over but the crying.
